Extension Coordinator, Southern Soils

The Extension Coordinator, Southern Soils is an exciting new role providing project management leadership to the Know your Southern Soils project and supporting the extension and adoption of improved agricultural soil management practices in the South Coast region.

About the Role

The Extension Coordinator, Southern Soils will play a key role in advancing soil health initiatives and will facilitate collaboration to improve soil knowledge, increase understanding of soil as a natural capital asset, and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

The Extension Coordinator, Southern Soils will:

Connect with and support farmers, landholders, and agriculture industry stakeholders in improving soil health and integrating soils into natural capital frameworks.

Facilitate partnerships and strengthen networks across the region.

Lead extension, workshops and field demonstrations, and contribute to capacity building.

Deliver and manage projects, including procurement, budgets, reporting and communications.

Collaborate closely with your colleagues and external partners to achieve shared goals, and represent South Coast NRM at external events.

This role is ideal for someone with project management experience, a commitment to sustainable agriculture and natural capital, and a passion for community-driven impact. You’ll be a natural relationship builder with strong communication skills, a knack for facilitation, and the ability to work with stakeholders. Position details

0.8 FTE permanent, negotiable for the right candidate.

Salary range $85,000–$105,000 pro-rata, plus superannuation.

Located in the South Coast region.

Please note we are recruiting for two roles in our Sustainable Agriculture team concurrently, with one role to be based in the east and the other in the west of the region. Please also see details of the Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator role.
