- Approx. $55-$65 per hour plus Super dependent on experience
- Assignment duration is up to 3 months. Immediate Start
- Melbourne CBD location/Hybrid Arrangement
About the role
Government department seeks a Project Coordinator to join them on short-term assignment for a duration of up to a period of 3 months based in Melbourne CBD. As the Project Coordinator, you will support a wide range of commercial construction projects. The projects vary from office refurbishment, office fitout, minor works and new builds.
You will be accountable for ensuring deliverables, outcomes and plans are coordinated effectively, working in consultation with the delivery team and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key duties
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and supporting the delivery of capital works projects allocated to the organisation's providers to program, quality, and budget in accordance with relevant financial legislation and department policies.
- Producing program or project reports and provide advice to enable effective decision making
- Facilitating a supportive and cooperative team environment; engaging other teams to share information to understand or respond to issues; supporting others in challenging situations.
- Providing administrative support to project management function, including supporting stakeholder engagement tasks, calendar management and coordination support, data entry and analysis
- Supporting the development and delivery of processes, tools and systems for the effective monitoring and coordination of program objectives.
- Working with project managers to identify dependencies between projects and to ensure sequencing of initiatives which will maximise outcomes.
- Under direction, supporting the procurement of, and administer other contracts with technical advisers, construction contractors and other consultants associated with allocated projects in consultation with the organisation's Procurement and Contract Management teams.
Key Selection Criteria
The skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include:
- Experience in Project Coordination, Design, Engineering or Construction.
- Prior demonstrable administrative and support experience within a project team
- Stakeholder Management experience: keeping clients or stakeholders up to date with issues and developments and promptly following through on inquiries, requests, and complaints.
- Experience in Project Delivery: executing work tasks against plan; prioritising tasks in line with the urgency and impact of tasks; utilising approved task management tools and maintaining accurate project records.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification (or working towards) qualifications in Engineering, Design or Construction Management, or Project Management.
