Providing technical advice to large landholders in areas targeted for aerial treatment on the effective implementation of fire ant management, including risk mitigation, surveillance, treatment and reporting.

Planning and coordinating activities that engage and support large landholders to accommodate aerial treatment of the land they own or manage, and to undertake land-based treatment of any areas not aerially treated.

Representing the Department at workshops, field days, meetings and engagements with large landholders to promote fire ant management activities and options.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including various functions in the National Fire Ant Eradication Program and FAST.

This is an absolutely vital and key role for the wider FAST team and a role which we need candidates to come straight in and thrive in. In order to ensure that this is the case, please review the following key skills and experience expecting for the role:

A qualification or relevant experience in agriculture, natural resource management, stakeholder engagement and communication, particularly with primary producers or rural communities, would be well regarded.
