About Us
Greyhound Racing in Queensland is entering an exciting new phase with the merger of the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club and Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club, forming the Queensland Greyhound Racing Club (QGRC). QGRC has begun transitioning operations to The Q, a new state of the art greyhound racing facility in Purga, situated on the outskirts of Ipswich. The facility includes 3 separate race tracks, a community club complete with a 350 seat restaurant, sports bar, a gaming room with 60 machines and a kids club.

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and professional Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our Club and will provide administrative support across the Club. The Receptionist will handle the flow of people through the business and ensure that all receptionist responsibilities are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the venue
- Direct visitors to the appropriate person/area
- Assist, explain and offer Club Membership to visitors, non-members and reciprocal card holders in order encourage membership growth.
- Sell and promote the Club’s services and facilities and provide directions and information for members and visitors
- Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls and emails
- Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material
- Ensure that correct opening and closing procedures are followed in the reception area
- Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges)
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, etc.
Qualifications & experience
- Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional and positive attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Previous experience within the Clubs or Racing industry is considered an advantage
- Ability to work evenings and weekends is a requirement of this position.
Employment is under the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award 2020
