My client is a boutique public practice accounting firm in Hawthorn East with a strong focus on high-net-worth and professional services clients. They're looking for a Client Manager with around 5 years' experience to join their collaborative, cloud-based team.
About the Role This is a hands-on, client-facing position where you’ll manage workflow, review work prepared by offshore staff, and build relationships with a loyal, long-term client base.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing compliance for companies, trusts, and group structures
• Reviewing offshore-prepared files (offshore team completes ~80% of the work)
• Regular direct contact with clients via phone, email, and in person
• Participating in daily workflow meetings with the offshore team

About You

You’re an experienced accountant ready for more ownership, autonomy, and client interaction. You’re technically solid and enjoy working in a team that values communication and culture over rigid hierarchies.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• 5+ years’ experience in public practice (business services/tax)
• Strong technical grounding in compliance work
• Experience with group structures and Div7A (desirable)
• Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with clients
• Exposure to Xero, CAS360, Karbon, and Ignition (advantageous)

The Interview Process

The hiring process is centered around fit and cultural alignment. The first interview (approx. 60–90 mins) is a relaxed, in-depth conversation about what drives you and how you work best. A follow-up may be scheduled soon after. Interviews are held after hours (around 5pm), typically on Mondays or Tuesdays.
