Our client is a global leader in the resources industry, committed to operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable development. Their Project Delivery team is currently delivering complex sustaining capital works in the Pilbara, and they are seeking a skilled professional to contribute to ongoing success at Cape Lambert.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an EC&I Project Coordinator to join the CLAHDO Project Delivery team. In this 12-month FIFO role, you will provide on-site leadership and coordinate construction activities, supporting safe and efficient execution of electrical, control, and instrumentation projects in a brownfield environment. Reporting to the Construction Lead, this role will focus on coordinating contracting partners, ensuring project milestones are met, and upholding Rio Tinto’s HSEQ and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinate day-to-day site implementation of electrical and instrumentation scopes.
· Manage multiple contractors and teams to ensure safe and timely execution of works.
· Monitor and report on project cost, quality, schedule, site safety, and contractor delivery.
· Partner with Project Advisors to ensure full compliance with RTIO’s construction and safety standards.
· Identify potential schedule impacts and assist with mitigation strategies.
· Support QA/QC processes, ensuring installation meets design and RTIO specifications.
· Assist in preparing punch lists, coordinating with operations during commissioning, and supporting shutdown phases.
· Review and verify contractor daily records, compile daily site logs, and prepare handover documentation.
Skills and Experience Required
· Demonstrated experience delivering multidisciplinary projects, including EC&I, mechanical, civil, and structural scopes.
· Strong stakeholder engagement and contractor management skills.
· Familiarity with brownfield construction practices, particularly in the resources sector.
· Previous exposure to Rio Tinto project delivery systems and procedures (advantageous).
· Proactive, team-oriented with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.
