We have an exciting opportunity for an Asset Accountant to join our team!
What You Will Do:
As an Asset Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the effective management of Council’s Asset Register, providing comprehensive advice, and contributing to the delivery of timely, accurate financial reporting. You will assist with the capitalisation, disposal, revaluation, and depreciation of assets, and support various budgeting and financial reconciliation processes.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude to make a real impact on how we manage Council’s property, plant, and equipment assets.
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, or a related field.
Currently studying towards, or eligible and committed to pursuing, Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia) or Chartered Accountant status (Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia).
Strong understanding of relevant Accounting Standards
In-depth knowledge of accounting systems, and proficient in using a range of software programs and computer applications.
High level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word.
Exceptional numerical and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail
Highly developed interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience in liaising, consulting, and negotiating effectively. Able to build strong working relationships and collaborate within a team environment.
