Position Overview and Key Responsibilities

· We are a leading, private agricultural grower, packer and marketer on Atherton Tablelands FNQ, of premium quality fresh mangoes and limes. We value innovation, teamwork, respect, pride, our staff & sustainable practices. All of the products we grow and sell are fresh, nutritious, unprocessed, and grown on our very own farms.

· We are looking for a fruit farm/orchard worker to join our team. The successful candidate can demonstrate a strong work ethic, be involved in various aspects of our farming operations and ensuring high standards.

· Position reports directly to the Manager.

· This is a physically demanding role, with mental stamina & ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail.

· You will be required to work as part of a busy team as well as independently, harvesting outside in the orchards as well as in packing team in our packhouse. Be confident, a hardworking team player with good organisation skills, a passion to work efficiently and effectively, be punctual and reliable.

· Work with different farm machinery to complete the relevant daily tasks.

· In the packing line you will require excellent attention to detail and adaptability to distinguish between various marks and imperfections on fruit by ensuring all your work is packed to the highest quality and correct procedures are followed.

· Packing of quality fruit into designated options, trays, bins or cartons, still checking the quality of the fruit.

· Able to conduct and present yourself in an orderly and responsible manner at work or at work related activities.

· Cleaning & Maintenance; performing duties by keeping all work areas clean and organised. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues promptly to manager.

· Help with dispatch and truck loading

· Able to adapt to different job roles by performing general farm tasks, including but not limited to irrigation, pruning, weeding, maintaining farm equipment, repairing & establishing fences. Work is conducted outdoors and, in the packing shed in all weather conditions depending on the needs of the farm, and the need to be flexible to work under varying conditions.

· Awareness and maintain compliance with Company, WPHS, QA, Food Safety & environmental objectives, Policies & Procedures & complying with HACCP.

· Paid in line with the Horticultural Award Pay rates

Qualifications & Skills:

· Experience in a fruit packing operation in the horticulture and produce industry with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in mango and lime farming or a similar agricultural environment.

· Certificate IV in Horticulture an advantage

· Demonstrated strong working skills

· Ability to identify opportunities to maximise efficiencies

· Excellent planning and organisation skills - ability to take responsibility and time manage.

· Driver’s licence and your own transport.

· This a full-time, on-site position. Only candidates willing to live and work locally will be considered.

· Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken) for effective record-keeping and communication within the team. Ability to listen & communicate effectively in English, Taiwanese and Mandarin & relate to a wide variety of cultures.
