Position Overview:
As the Payroll Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our national workforce. You will work closely with our finance team to manage payroll functions while maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and manage end-to-end payroll for employees across various locations.
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, bonuses, superannuation, leave entitlements, and deductions.
Maintain accurate employee payroll records and update personal details when required.
Reconcile and process payroll-related reports and payments.
Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act, Taxation laws, and other relevant legislation.
Respond to payroll inquiries from staff and management in a professional and timely manner.
Assist with year-end payroll procedures including tax reporting, annual leave, and superannuation calculations.
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll with employee records and financial systems.
Ensure all payroll records are maintained in line with company policies and confidentiality agreements.
About You:
Proven experience in payroll administration, ideally in a large or national organisation.
Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance (Fair Work, Superannuation, Taxation, etc.).
Proficiency in payroll software (experience with Xero or similar systems is an advantage).
High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams and external parties.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in the construction or restoration industry will be highly regarded, but not essential.
