About the role

The purpose of this position is to support the delivery of actions in the Penrith Visitor Economy Strategy (VES). The Visitor Economy Partnership Officer develops and maintains relationships with tourism industry associations, event organisers, state agencies and tourism operators, and identifies opportunities to build resilience, encourage innovation and grow Penrith’s visitor economy.

The Partnership Officer reports to the Visitor Economy Lead and analyses tourism industry data to identify opportunities for Council and its industry partners to grow the visitor economy.

Essential criteria

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent in in Marketing, Tourism, Customer Service or related field
  • Demonstrated experience researching, organising and distributing information
  • Demonstrated experience in content creation for digital channels
  • Demonstrated experience scheduling and monitoring online content for marketing campaigns
  • Proven administrative skills, including PC skills, customer service experience and Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • A knowledge and understanding of EEO and WHS principles

Desirable criteria

  • Current Class C Driver’s License
  • Knowledge and understanding of Local Government operations
  • Knowledge of the Australian tourism industry

Commencing salary: $90,063.00. p.a, plus 11.5% Superannuation

You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, in order to progress through the recruitment process.
