About the role
Tropic Cleaning Services is seeking a dedicated QHSE & HR Officer to join our team.
As we continue to grow and work towards achieving ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications, we are looking for a passionate and proactive professional to support our journey. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining and enhancing our Integrated Management System while also assisting with HR and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
QHSE Duties (Primary Role):
Maintain and improve the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
Monitor and report on key QHSE performance indicators.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks to promote a safe working culture.
Support on hazard and incident reporting, investigation, and tracking of corrective actions.
Assist in risk assessments, safe work procedures, and document updates.
Ensure staff onboarding includes QHSE inductions and compliance training.
Keep test tag registers, SDS registers, HazChem documentation, and WHS documentation up to date.
Provide guidance and QHSE support to supervisors, field staff, and subcontractors.
Liaise with auditors, clients, and government bodies regarding safety and compliance matters.
HR & Admin Support Duties:
Manage onboarding paperwork, staff records, and employment contracts.
Coordinate staff inductions and initial training schedules.
Assist with payroll data collection and general HR admin duties.
Support document control, data entry, and preparation of reports.
Coordinate internal communication, staff notices, and policy updates.
What we're looking for
Experience in a similar QHSE or WHS role (cleaning, trades, or service industry preferred).
Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
Excellent understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and best practices
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address issues proactively
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with employees at all levels
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to maintain accurate records and data
Passionate about promoting a positive, inclusive, and safe work culture
HR or administration experience is a bonus.
