Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead procurement and contract management activities through the development of clear and concise contractual documentation.
• Lead by example by modeling ethical decision-making processes and abiding by government probity requirements.
• Lead and develop a team of contract managers and consultants who manage large scale passenger transport service contracts ensuring the obligations from all parties are delivered. Allocate resources for the management of key contracts within the team. Support team members in career development and conducting invitation to offer (ITO) activities.
• Build and sustain strong professional relationships with external parties (transport service providers) and internal stakeholders to ensure contracts are managed within required guidelines. Be a key point of contact on behalf of the Department of Transport and Main Roads to monitor performance.
• Conduct analysis on contract performance metrics to determine strategies to improve customer outcomes. Provide recommendations to senior executives using evidence-based research.
Requirements of the role
• Experience in procurement and contract management practices will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing a team to meet
key deliverables.
• Qualifications in commerce, accounting, economics, or contract administration will be highly regarded.
• Transport management experience will be desirable.
