About the role

We are seeking a Casual/Full Time Marine Diesel Mechanic to join our team at North West Commercial Marine in Dampier, WA. As a Marine Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a diverse range of marine equipment and vessels. This is a hands-on role that requires a high level of technical expertise and a passion for problem-solving.

What you'll be doing

Rebuilding Engines in and out of the vessels

Rebuilding Pumps

Gearbox Rebuilds

Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on marine vessels and equipment

Conducting inspections and providing recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements

Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new marine equipment

Cooling system overhauls

Maintaining accurate records of all work performed

Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures

What we're looking for

Fully Qualified HD Mechanic with experience in the marine industry

MSIC Card a must or willing to obtain

Full WA Drivers License

Strong working knowledge of marine engines, hydraulics, and 12v & 24v electrical systems

Fault finding and diagnostic experience

Can do attitude and who is willing to work hard

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Strong attention to detail

To be able to work efficiently and un supervised and also as part of a team

Ability to complete pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening

Willingness to travel around the North West Region when required
