The Infrastructure Directorate is the City of Stirling’s largest and most diverse Directorate, managing many of the City’s important assets and services while delivering a multi-million-dollar portfolio of projects.

About the Position
We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technical Officer to join the Engineering Design team. In this role you will support the Manager Engineering Design in providing a professional engineering planning and design service. You will be responsible for the investigation, analysis and design of assigned engineering capital works projects. Most of the projects you will work on are road/drainage improvement projects including rights-of-way, car parks and traffic treatments.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include;
- Prepare and issue construction plans using relevant CAD applications
- Complete site investigations
- Drainage catchment hydrologic and pipe system hydraulic analyses
- Road improvement projects including rights of way, car parks and traffic treatments
- Application of relevant standards and guidelines to ensure best industry practice design solutions
- Prepare quantities and estimates for projects using predetermined rates
- Prepare Occupational Health and Safety Design Reports
- Monitoring of project progress
You will get to work with a large team who have a depth of experience and can provide mentoring and guidance.
About You
The following essential qualifications and experience are requirements for this position, However, If you do not tick all the desirable boxes, please still apply as all applications will be considered for this role.
- Diploma qualification in Civil Engineering or related field, or demonstrated equivalent competency, is essential,
- Practical experience in AutoCAD is essential,
- Previous experience in road and drainage design is essential,
- Practical experience in the use of Civil 3D and XP Storm or similar hydraulic/hydrologic CAD software is desirable,
- Knowledge of relevant technical standards applying to engineering planning and design works is desirable,
- Sound time management and project management skills is desirable.

This permanent full-time position is Level 6/7 Inside Workforce Agreement which attracts a salary from $ 85,751 pro rata per annum plus superannuation.

- A copy of a valid Australian driving licence
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
- The right to work in Australia
