About the position
The City’s Parks & Environment branch is committed to the sustainable management and ongoing care of parks assets and public open spaces. An opportunity exists for a Technical Officer Parks Assets to contribute to the delivery of high-quality public open spaces through asset inspections, maintenance planning and contractor management.
In this role, you will lead the parks asset inspection program, assist with asset data management and support the delivery of capital works. You will provide technical input on asset standards, review landscape plans, and develop maintenance programs. The role also involves monitoring contractor performance and working closely with teams across the organisation to ensure parks infrastructure meets operational needs and longer-term branch objectives.
What we are looking for
To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:
Relevant experience in the management of parks assets
Ability to plan, manage or deliver structured programs and projects
Experience analysing and interpreting asset data
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and build positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders
Essential requirements
Certificate III or higher in Horticulture, Asset Management or a related field
Driver’s licence
White Card
Current Police Clearance (less than three months old). Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role, but it will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
