đ Hey You â Yes, You
Want to work somewhere where your job actually matters?
Weâre on the lookout for an Intervention Worker to join our amazing team at headspace Toowoomba, delivered by Youturn â and if you care deeply about helping young people through the messy, beautiful, complicated parts of life⊠you mightâve just found your next role.
This isn't your average 9-to-5. Itâs more likeâŠ
đŹ "I had someone to talk to when I needed it most."
Thatâs the kind of thing you'll help make happen.
At Youturn, supporting people in their time of need is more than a missionâitâs who we are.
In partnership with headspace, weâre all about standing beside young people when life gets tough. Weâre looking for someone whoâs not just qualified, but genuinely passionate about making a difference â someone who sees people first, not problems.
Youturn is a leading national not-for-profit organisation delivering Health and Community Services to vulnerable people across Australia. Since 2012, weâve proudly delivered youth mental health services under the headspace modelâoffering friendly, flexible clinical and non-clinical support including counselling, peer activities, and social groups for young people aged 12 to 25.

đ§ So, whatâs the gig?
As an Intervention Worker, youâll be a friendly face (or voice) that a young person sees or hears when they reach out for support. Whether theyâre struggling with mental health, going through tough stuff at home, or just feeling lost â youâll be the calm in their storm.
Your day-to-day might include:
Having real, respectful convos with young people (aged 12â25) who need support
Doing bio-psycho-social assessments (yep, we like big words, but we keep it human)
Spotting risks early â and working with our team to create a solid plan if needed
Linking young people and their families to the right services, programs, or supports
Delivering evidence-based interventions (aka short-term support with big impact)
Working side-by-side with clinicians, GPs, peer workers, youth workers, and more
đ€ Who youâll work with
You wonât be flying solo â youâll be backed by a super supportive, multidisciplinary team. Think: psychologists, youth workers, GPs, social workers, community partners, and some seriously passionate humans who are here for the right reasons.
And yep, thereâs plenty of laughs, snacks, dog memes, and peer support along the way.
𧰠What youâll bring to the table
You hold full Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and / or be an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Nurse, or Occupational Therapist
You genuinely like young people and know how to connect without being condescending
Youâve got experience doing risk assessments and delivering a variety of evidence-based interventions
Trauma-informed care is your jam â or at least youâre committed to learning it
Youâre a great team player whoâs okay with a little organised chaos now and then
Youâve got a current driverâs licence and Blue Card (or willing to get one)
Bonus points if you:
Know the local youth/mental health sector like the back of your hand
Are keen to help us run group programs (creative ideas always welcome!)
Want to be part of something bigger than just a job
đ What we offer
A role where you can actually change lives
Ongoing training, support and clinical supervision (weâve got your back)
