What you'll be doing
As the Site Manager, you'll play a vital role in overseeing logistics, asset management, safety compliance & operational efficiency. You'll have the opportunity to work across multiple business functions- from plant operations to customer relations, and drive cost optimization.
• You will manage and oversee the daily activities of the metal recycling yard, including the receiving, processing, and transfer of scrap metal.
• Supervise and provide guidance to a team of employees ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and work procedures
• Coordinate and schedule work, monitor productivity, and address any performance or operational issues
• Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
• Liaise with customers, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations, timely sorting, receival and transfer of material.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements
What we're looking for
• Minimum 5 years of experience in management or logistics with a demonstrated track record of leading a team
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and team leadership skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively liaise with management, employees and customers.
• Ability to drive operational improvements
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Experience in transport asset management, logistics, and operations (preferably in heavy industry, recycling, or metals).
• Critical thinking with a focus on problem solving and solution-based outcomes.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management (preferred but not essential).
