About the role

In this role you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive psychological services to our community. Senior clinicians will also provide supervision and mentoring of junior staff members.

The role is 0.6 FTE

Wednesday to Friday

Five clients per day (adjustments made on days conducting diagnostic assessments)

Opportunity to increase days in later 2025

External and internal supervision provided by the practice

Who is DKM Psychology?

DKM Psychology is a private practice located in the Coburg, Victoria. Lead by clinical psychologist, Dr. Kimberly Mercuri, the team at DKM endeavour to aid individuals on their journey of self-reflection and help them implement meaningful changes into their life at their own pace.

We do this by:

cultivating an environment that is open, honest and inviting,

focuses on best-fit allocation, not just allocating any available therapist to any client, and

ensuring our clinicians engage in self-care, including regular clinical supervision, EAP services, and maintain manageable case-loads to ensure clarity, longevity, and high-quality therapeutic support.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

Clinical Practice

Conduct thorough psychological assessments and provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to clients.

Competence working with children and adolescents.

Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of clients.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress.

Conduct diagnostic assessment (i.e. ADHD, Autis; highly desireable)

Supervision (for Senior Applicants)

Provide clinical supervision to junior psychologists, interns, and support staff.

Conduct regular supervision meetings to review cases, offer guidance, and ensure the delivery of high-quality care.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment through effective communication and support.

Training and Professional Development

Stay abreast of the latest developments in the field of psychology and related areas.

Facilitate ongoing training sessions for staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.

Encourage and support staff members in pursuing professional development opportunities.

Team Collaboration

Collaborate with other psychologists and healthcare professionals within the practice to ensure a cohesive approach to client care.

Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss complex cases and share expertise.

Ethical Standards

Uphold and adhere to ethical guidelines and standards set forth by relevant professional organizations.

Model ethical behaviour and professionalism for staff members.

Qualifications

Full unconditional registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

AHPRA registration as a Board Approved Supervisor (desireable, but required for Senior position).

Extensive experience as a mental health professional.

Demonstrated experience in providing psychological counselling services in a private practice setting.

Demonstrated ability to work and communicate sensitively and effectively with clients also within different levels of organisational structures and with external stakeholders.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Competency in facilitating diagnostic assessment (i.e. ADHD, Autism, desirable)
