Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and talented Accounting Manager who will demonstrate a proactive approach in leading, managing and reviewing work for their "pod" of five accountants. With a mix of Senior to Junior accountants this role is well suited to a candidate that has excellent tax knowledge and has previously managed the workflow of multiple staff members. The ideal candidate is confident in verbal and written client communication, demonstrates efficient control of their individual workload and that of their team, sees the benefits of utilising technology effectively and developing the skills of their team members.

Key Responsibilities

Reviewing Financial Statements in accordance with all current, legal and accounting reporting standards;

Reviewing Income Tax Returns, Fringe Benefits Tax Returns, Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements;

Manages capacity and priorities of their team's client workload utilising the support of a dedicated Client Services Manager and capacity reporting;

Assist, review & train junior staff members;

Build & develop team and client relationships;

Provide Financial Analysis & Insight, and

Provide Client Advisory Services

Qualifications & Experience Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance

Membership of a Professional Accounting Body

Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Australian accounting

Minimum of 4 years of experience managing and reviewing junior staff work

Proficient in Xero/Xero Tax/Xero Practice Manager

Desirable

Working knowledge of FYI Docs, Active Workpapers, Office365

At least 2 years experience in a similar role
