Property Acquisition Officer – NSW Government

  • Location: Wollongong (preferred)/Parramatta (may consider) + WFH (hybrid)
  • Pay Rate: $70 - $100 per hour + Super
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
  • Assignment Length: Anticipated 12 months with potential to extend

Key Accountabilities:

  • Interpret client briefs & develop project proposals & solutions that will achieve time, quality & financial targets
  • Provide specialist advice on legislation impact on property acquisitions & transfers to ensure relevant compliance & delivery
  • Manage & deliver projects and tasks assigned by the Senior Infrastructure Property Officer, providing financial oversight
  • Provide advice to clients, stakeholders & Government, ensuring practices comply with relevant legislation, codes & standards

Essential Criteria:

  • Well-developed knowledge & understanding of the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991, Crown Lands Act and other relevant legislation & regulations including the Native Title Act 1993 & NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983
  • Experience & knowledge of the requirements of Land Property Information (LPI) NSW in relation to property transactions
  • Must have excellent communication skills & willing to travel to regions to liaise with landowners
  • A valid NSW Driver’s license
