About the Company
Davidson is working with a government client who is seeking a temporary Principal Property Officer to join the Property Services Unit. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with significant commercial experience to assist in facilitating various property functions with both departmental and external third parties.
About the Role
The Principal Property Officer will provide high-level analysis, undertake due diligence, and engage with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate, develop, and manage licences, leases, deeds of agreement, and joint development agreements. This role involves extensive stakeholder engagement on land management, review and implementation of infrastructure and property, with a focus on leasing, joint development agreements, and community use of school facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the implementation of property programs, including Joint Development Agreements and third-party use and leasing programs.
- Analyse potential risks, opportunities, and strengths in third-party use and leasing programs to ensure consistency in decision-making.
- Provide timely, independent property and planning advice, developing strategies, identifying emerging issues, and implementing departmental plans.
- Identify legislative and policy obligations and seek improvements to the leasing program, community use, and Joint Development Agreement models.
- Adopt a project management approach to complex matters to achieve effective outcomes.
- Develop and sustain productive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including other Property Services teams, property owners, schools, legal services, town planning, procurement, regional infrastructure advisors, and other government departments.
About You
- Experience working within Commercial Leasing highly regarded.
- Experience in delivering high-quality property advice and developing appropriate service responses to meet stakeholder needs.
- Strong research skills and well-developed written skills, including report and brief writing.
- Awareness and understanding of relevant legislation and policy impacting a Queensland Government property portfolio.
- Proactive and forward-thinking with a strong motivation to work towards organisational objectives.
- Qualifications or industry experience in site due diligence, property-related legal experience, conveyancing skills, Town Planning principles, Leasing, Joint Development Agreements, property-related policy, and legislation are highly regarded but not mandatory.

- $85.31 per hour + Super
