About the Role:

Are you ready to lead end-to-end strategic procurement initiatives that drive real impact in a fantastic State Government Department?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer to join our client on a contract basis an initial 6 months with possible extension, $82.58 per hour + super.

This position is responsible for managing the full procurement lifecycle — from planning, tendering, evaluation, and negotiation to contract award and ongoing performance management.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver high-quality procurement and contract management services, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
• Manage end-to-end procurement activities — from planning and tender administration to supplier negotiation, contract award, and ongoing contract management.
• Provide timely, strategic advice to internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Foster strong partnerships across public sector bodies, industry groups, and vendors.
• Conduct performance monitoring, prepare reports and briefings, and contribute to system improvements.

What you'll bring:

• Previous procurement experience in a Government setting will be highly regarded (local, state or federal).
• Strong knowledge of the QPP and industry best practices
• Proven expertise in managing complex procurement projects.
• Strong knowledge of government procurement policies and practices.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
