Cook - Cosmo Coffee, Castle Hill Full-Time Available Salary: $75,000 (Full-Time Position) Work Hours: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday Location: Castle Hill, NSW

Role & Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve meals by following recipes, assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients while maintaining a sanitary kitchen.

Execute cold food production in accordance with standards.

Ensure high-quality food presentation and attention to detail for each order.

Place and expedite food orders efficiently.

Prepare ingredients by slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing, along with adding seasonings and verifying taste.

Cook hot meals using grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling techniques.

Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, including HACCP logs, appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of food items.

Store leftovers properly according to established standards.

Coordinate daily food supply inventory and place orders when necessary.

Assist with receipt and organization of deliveries.

Collaborate with the Head Chef to contribute to daily, holiday, and special menus.

Ensure smooth kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas.

Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules and assist with dishwashing as needed.

Train and orient new employees to their work area.

Listen to customer complaints and suggestions, resolving issues within the scope of the position.

Implement customer suggestions where applicable and refer more complex concerns to the supervisor.

Instruct personnel on new equipment and cleaning methods while ensuring efficient maintenance of the work area.

Participate in programs, committees, or projects aimed at improving quality of service and employee productivity.

Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum 1 year of experience in hospitality, institutional, or restaurant cooking, including food preparation.

Preferred: Completion of a Food Safety course within the past year.

Preferred: Education or certification in cookery/commercial cookery.

Must have a current food handler’s card and any other certifications required by federal, state, or local law.

Ability to safely and effectively operate standard food service equipment.
