ABOUT THE ROLE
The Business Development Manager position will suit a freight forwarder with 2-3 years of experience selling or who is hungry to start a career in sales. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and ready to sell. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Director, who has time to mentor and help the right person develop their BD craft.

DUTIES
• Extensive knowledge of International Freight (Import/Export)
• Ability to build strong relationships with prospective clients
• Ability to quickly learn product and service knowledge to translate a customer's need into a solution
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Create, engage and close new business leads
• Research and development of new sales opportunities through leads
• Implementation of new development strategies to increase business growth
• Rate negotiations with suppliers
• Preparation of weekly sales reports
