About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven National Rental & Business Development Manager to lead our national rental operations and business development strategy.

Reporting directly to the Director, this senior role will be responsible for overseeing all day to day sales and related activities, drive high-value business development, find, develop and close major deals, and play a key role in shaping the strategic direction and long-term growth of the company.

This is an autonomous, senior leadership position with flexibility to be based in either Brisbane or Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within civil construction, mining, and extractive sectors

Build, develop, and maintain long-term relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders

Develop and present proposals, bids, and tenders for new projects

Oversee the national rental desk and all associated sales activities

Collaborate closely with internal operational teams to ensure project delivery excellence and client satisfaction

Assist with the implementation of improved sales systems and processes

Conduct ongoing market research to stay ahead of industry trends and competitor movements

Represent Egans Group professionally at all times across client meetings and industry forums

Expand and optimize rental opportunities and maximize the utilization of the company's extensive fleet, including Haul Trucks, Excavators, Compaction Equipment, Dozers, Water Trucks, Wheel Loaders, and Motor Graders.

Enable, empower, and coach internal staff to succeed at the right levels of responsibility and performance

A team-player who engages and understands how critical regular team communication is ESSENTIAL.

Skills and Experience

Proven background in business development, sales, or account management within civil construction, earthmoving, or related industries

A strong network within earthmoving and construction sector

Strategic thinker with excellent commercial acumen

Strong understanding of the civil construction market, including tendering and project management processes.

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Ability to work autonomously while maintaining high performance standards

Demonstrated leadership ability to coach and inspire teams

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationally as required
