QSolutions Group is a Health & Safety Management Consultancy Business providing services across private and government sectors throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Our Head Office is based in Townsville, Queensland and this year we are celebrating 20 years in business.
We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Consultant with a background in Workplace Health & Safety to join our Townsville team.
The Role
The role will include the delivery of a range of consulting and audit services. Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Work directly with clients to understand their company and their Health & Safety needs
Create tailored documentation, including policies, procedures, SWMS’, safety plans and project specific resources
Provide general and specialist WHS advice and assistance
Conduct WHS reviews, audits, risk assessments and inspections
Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining WHS Management Systems
Assist in achieving and maintaining certifications and accreditations (i.e. ISO certification, WHS Accreditation Scheme)
Acting on behalf of clients in the capacity of in-house WHS (at corporate and project levels)
Conducting ISO audits on behalf of 3rd party JASANZ accredited bodies
Supporting others within the team in the delivery of services where required.
The role requires a strong communicator and the ability to utilise your skills and experience to shape safety at corporate and project levels by influencing teams to adopt and adapt to meet legislative, company, client and project requirements.
Important: This role requires regular away travel to client offices / projects throughout Australia (primarily Queensland & Northern Territory).
Your Experience
Your experience, both direct and indirect, will be considered for this role. Key experience that will see candidates succeed in this role are:
Ability to research, interpret and apply relevant health and safety legislation, regulation, standards and codes of practice
General technical knowledge across a range of disciplines (for example; high risk work, safety observations/inspections, emergency response, achieving/monitoring/maintaining compliance to defined criteria)
Strong communication and ability to engage group audiences to deliver key information
Report writing to address defined criteria/findings and establish practical solutions to achieve best/intended outcomes.
Qualifications, Skills & Requirements
To be successful in this role, we are seeking candidates who maintain or can demonstrate the following:
Health & Safety Qualification or Tertiary Qualification (in any discipline) or a minimum of 2 years in a similar role
Demonstrated high level communication skills
Working knowledge of WHS legislation & Codes of Practice
Current Driver’s Licence
Confident computer skills and a high level of attention to detail
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to travel away for work throughout Australia (primarily Queensland & Northern Territory)
