About the role
The Digital Strategy and Projects Lead is responsible for driving the Council’s digital strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and leading transformation through well-defined programs and practices.
Working closely with the CIO, this role focuses on developing and implementing digital initiatives that enhance public services, streamline operations, and strengthen community engagement. A key priority is transforming the working practices of the Digital team by fostering a culture of innovation, leveraging strategic partnerships, and embedding human-centered design approaches to improve collaboration, agility, and service delivery.
With a strong emphasis on strategy and execution, the position involves working with stakeholders to identify emerging trends, optimize digital processes, and establish best practices that ensure the Council remains at the forefront of digital transformation.
Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field or equivalent work experience.
Ability to develop a digital strategy roadmap and lead the implementation of programs and projects included in Council’s Digital roadmap and strategies.
Excellent leadership and project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex digital initiatives.
Strong understanding of strategies and techniques to foster cultures of innovation, collaboration, and excellence including performance monitoring.
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks, including cybersecurity, data privacy, and accessibility to ensure that the Council’s digital initiatives comply with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
Ability to collaborate and engage with diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership, technical teams, and the community.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills for effectively conveying digital strategies and initiatives.
Expertise in budget management and resource allocation for digital projects.
Strong knowledge of emerging technologies, innovation trends, and their application in local government services.
