About us
Road Safety Education Limited (RSE) is committed to saving lives through reducing road trauma. As the pre-eminent road safety educator for youth in Australia and New Zealand, our flagship Ryda Program is typically delivered to more than 60,000 senior high school students from more than 650 schools each year. Ryda is the southern hemisphere's largest and longest running road safety education program and receives significant funding support from the Queensland Government's Community Road Safety Grants Program as well as our corporate partners and Rotary, our community partner.
About the role
This role, supporting 2 x Program co-ordinators, offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community and ensure the efficient operation of operations in Queensland.
At RSE, we are dedicated to improving road safety, and this position plays a vital role in supporting our mission. The Administration Assistant will help Program Co-ordinators expand our operations, working closely with local authorities, schools, facilitators and volunteers to support essential road safety education.
This role is ideal for a well-rounded and highly organised administrator seeking a flexible position with occasional travel across Queensland.
As an Administration Assistant, you will provide essential support to ensure the smooth delivery of Ryda programs. This role involves a mix of working from home, some coordinating logistics at schools and Ryda venues, and engaging with key stakeholders across Brisbane and Queensland.
To be successful in this role, you will:
Communicate effectively with local communities, including high school teachers, principals, students, Rotary Clubs, Police, Council Road Safety Coordinators, and parents.
Provide administrative support for the Queensland team, contracted facilitators and day managers, including assisting with recruitment, training, and assessments where required.
Manage correspondence, scheduling appointments, maintaining records, data entry, processing invoices.
Champion the integration of Ryda and road safety education within the broader school curriculum.
Manage designated school areas using our CRM system to track participation, monitor program effectiveness, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
About you
You need to be willing to get stuck into all parts of the role, be good at thinking on your feet and fast-thinking problem solving.
You will be an enthusiastic self-starter, happy to work both autonomously and as part of a state and national team, with a successful history of working from your home office.
Experience in Administration and or portfolio management is desirable. We encourage applicants with a passion for road safety, from a range of educational, private and public sector professional backgrounds.
You will be flexible, and able to work outside of regular work hours if needed and have access to a reliable vehicle in which to travel throughout Southeast Queensland, with further intrastate travel by plane.
This role is perfect for someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting road safety education.
Successful candidates will have:
Strong administrative and organisational skills, ideally with experience in event or project management.
Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement abilities, with experience in maintaining relationships across schools, community groups, and volunteers.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good computer literacy, including experience with CRM software and Excel.
Experience working in a blended environment, including remote work.
A keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
A positive attitude under pressure, strong teamwork skills, and a good sense of humour.
Applicants must have access to their own vehicle. This role may also involve some travel with overnight stays. You will need to work from home and a car allowance and home office allowance are included in addition to the remuneration package. Having a dedicated office area/workspace at home is essential.
If you feel you are a self-starter with the drive, enthusiasm and related experience to meet this challenge and enable RSE to achieve its objectives, please apply with your CV and a covering letter.
Applications will close on Friday 1 May. Please also visit www.rse.org.au to find out more about what we do and how you could play a part in it.
