OCR is an emerging leader in clinical trials, specialising in pharmaceutical industry-sponsored clinical trials for patients with haematological (blood) and solid-organ cancers, and chronic diseases. Due to our growing portfolio of clinical trials, our Finance Manager is looking to recruit a newly created role of Assistant/ Junior Project Accountant. This role is 4 days per week (0.8FTE) and can be done over 4 or 5 days (e.g. school hours) however we would also consider full time applicants.

Responsibilities include:

building project trackers and reconciling revenue and expenses for multiple research projects.

Accurate and complete capturing, billing and reconciliation of trial expenditure in accordance with the individual trial contract.

Managing the Trial Participant Payment Process, ensuring accuracy and compliance to the relevant trial contract.

There is scope for the role to take on further responsibilities in the business management accounting processes.

This role will report to the Finance Manager with the opportunity to develop and enhance their management accounting skills.

Essential Criteria:

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, or related disciplines;

Working toward CA or CPA status;

At least 2 years relevant (accounting based) work experience in Australia, NZ, or the UK (graduates with no experience will not be considered)

Demonstrated planning and workload management skills and the ability to work autonomously;

Exceptional reconciliation skills with high attention to detail;

Demonstrated experience with Accounting Software and MS Suite;

Excellent oral and written communication skills and personal confidence to liaise with a variety of team members including clinical staff and Directors.

Desirable Criteria (at least one of the following):

Experience in a hospital/healthcare environment and/or experience in clinical research/trials administration;

Understanding of medical terminology (ideally oncology or haematology context);

Experience working with Xero finance systems along with Clinical Trial Management Systems (e.g. CRIO) is an advantage.
