Ongoing, part-time position (25 hours per week, 5 hours per day)- Student weeks plus 4 weeks during term breaks. Equivalent to 0.67 FTE
Base Salary Range $73,330 - $81,505 pro rata
Commencing 23 June 2025, or by negotiation

We are seeking a dedicated Design and Technology Assistant to support the teaching staff in our busy Design and Technology Department. This is a highly practical area where students use a range of hand tools and machinery to make projects using wood and metal. The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of a team, assisting the D&T teachers to ensure the maintenance and smooth operation of the workshops, playing a crucial role in supporting and improving students’ learning experiences.

The Role:

The day-to-day tasks of the Design and Technology Assistant are managed by the Head of Department. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

Maintaining the workshop machinery, tools, equipment and resources

Ensuring a safe working and learning environment

Undertake storage and replenishment of supplies and equipment

Maintaining clean workshops, storerooms and finish rooms

Assisting teachers in classrooms and workshops when required

Undertaking projects as part of an ongoing program of facilities development

Undertaking tasks related to the promotion of the school and the Design and Technology area

The successful candidate must have:

Practical/hands-on experience in a workshop-related field. (No previous experience in a school is required.).

Ability to work as part of a team and independently.

Experience in the use of, or willing to learn the use of CAD & CNC technologies

A service-oriented approach.

Be computer literate and willing to learn school systems.
