Biomedical Engineer – Assistive Technology Consultant
Location: Perth, WA and surrounding areas
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: AUD $73,150 plus superannuation

About the Role
Control Bionics is seeking a motivated Biomedical Engineer to deliver assistive technology solutions to individuals with disabilities across Perth and regional WA. This role focuses on clinical assessments, technical device configuration, and training, enabling clients to communicate and interact more independently with their environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive client assessments to determine the most suitable assistive technology solutions.

Install, calibrate, and maintain EMG-based communication devices and other assistive technologies.

Document client interactions, clinical outcomes, and technical adjustments in compliance with confidentiality and data management policies.

Evaluate wheelchair and mobility setups and recommend appropriate mounting solutions.

Deliver in-person and remote training for clients, families, therapists, and clinical teams to ensure successful device usage.

Provide technical troubleshooting and customer support services post-implementation.

Collaborate closely with allied health professionals and internal technical teams to optimise client outcomes.

Participate in professional development activities, industry events, and clinical education sessions.

Skills and Experience Required:

Tertiary qualification in Biomedical Engineering.

Minimum of 1.5 years' experience in assistive technology or a related clinical/technical field.

Demonstrated ability to support individuals with disabilities through technology-based interventions.

Experience with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) for client record management.

Knowledge of EMG technology and medical device calibration principles.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Capacity to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with remote teams.

Valid Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
