�� Environmental Health Officer | Government Contract | North Brisbane

Northbridge works with a number of State and Local Government partners and currently has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Health Officer to join a well-regarded Government Department based in North Brisbane. An initial 6-month temporary contract (with potential for extension). This role plays a vital part in protecting public health through proactive monitoring, investigations, and community engagement.

�� The Opportunity
You'll be at the forefront of delivering public and environmental health services — conducting assessments, enforcing compliance, and providing expert advice to ensure health standards are met across the region.

�� Key Details

• North Brisbane-based role | Hybrid: WFH 2 days per week
• $52/hour + Super
• 38 hours per week, Monday–Friday
• Initial 6-month contract, with potential to extend
• Immediate start available
• Work within a well-established Local Government team

�� Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert advice on environmental health matters to internal teams and the wider community
• Investigate breaches of public health laws related to food safety, environmental issues, and regulated businesses
• Manage licensing and approval processes for businesses under relevant legislation
• Conduct routine monitoring of licensable premises
• Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive positive outcomes

�� About You

• Previous experience in a similar role within Local, State or Federal Government (within the last 3 years)
• Hold a Degree or Postgraduate Qualification in Environmental Health
• Confident interpreting data from technical equipment for reporting and decision-making
• Strong understanding of relevant health legislation and government procedures
• Available for an immediate start and open to contract work
