Marina Realty is seeking an experienced and reliable Gardener / Handyperson to join our team on a casual basis in Mackay.

In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for providing professional landscaping and general maintenance services across our portfolio of residential properties. This includes routine care of gardens and lawns, upkeep of common areas, and basic maintenance of equipment and facilities.

With several unit complexes under our management, we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, follows a structured schedule, and has a strong eye for detail. If you enjoy working outdoors, have experience in groundskeeping or handyman work, and are self-motivated, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Minimum 1 year of experience in gardening, landscaping, groundskeeping, or general property maintenance

Competency in using power tools and landscaping equipment (e.g. mowers, trimmers, blowers)

Basic handyman skills (e.g. small repairs, general upkeep of facilities)

Physically fit and capable of performing manual outdoor work in various weather conditions

Ability to follow a regular maintenance schedule and work independently

Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation of work

Good communication and interpersonal skills

A proactive approach to identifying and reporting maintenance issues

Basic understanding of workplace health & safety practices

High school certificate or relevant industry experience preferred

Current driver’s licence (preferred)

You wear the required uniform, name tag, and PPE at all times while on duty

You are polite, respectful, and courteous when dealing with owners, tenants, and staff

You maintain a strong knowledge of the properties, including amenities and facilities

You take responsibility for any lost property you find and ensure it is returned to the Marina Realty office

You promptly report any maintenance or damage issues to the General Manager each day

You work safely, efficiently, and with a high level of attention to detail

You are reliable, self-motivated, and take pride in the quality of your work
