The Role:

Derm Skin Specialists is a new practice based at Mount Gravatt. Our team consists of Specialists, Clinical Assistants and admin/reception staff.

We are looking for experienced Receptionist/Clinical assistant to join our team.

Job Overview:

The Dermatology Receptionist/Clinical Assistant roll will assist dermatologists in providing high-quality dermatological care to patients. This role involves clinical, administrative, and patient-facing responsibilities, including assisting with examinations, patient preparation, maintaining patient records, and ensuring smooth daily operations of the dermatology practice.

About You:

This is a part time or full-time position depending on what the candidate is after (with good regular hours). The position is located at our rooms in Mount Gravatt. You will need to be a team player, have a friendly disposition with colleagues and patients, be able to take and follow instructions as well as being a self-starter - using your initiative and logic.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Patient Care Support:

Greet and prepare patients for examination or treatment.

Educate patients on post-treatment care and answer general questions about dermatology services.

Assist with the documentation of patient histories, allergies, medications, and other necessary information

Clinical Duties:

Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, sterile, and fully stocked.

Sterilize and organize medical instruments, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.

Assist dermatologists during skin exams, biopsies, laser treatments, and other dermatological procedures

Apply dressings or bandages and assist with wound care, when necessary.

Assist with phototherapy treatments and other specialised dermatology procedures.

Assist with minor dermatologic procedures such as removing skin tags, applying topical treatments, etc

Administrative Tasks:

Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits.

Answer patient calls, respond to inquiries, and handle patient referrals.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR).

Process insurance claims, verify coverage, and coordinate billing information.

Order medical supplies and equipment as needed.

Patient Co-ordination

Recording notes, writing quotes, discussing fees

Data entry via Xestro medical software
