As an employer of choice, the Western Australia Police Force has a number of benefits to offer that can enrich your employment experience.

In addition to your agreed salary and employer superannuation contributions, the WA Police Force offers stability, growth and learning opportunities, work-life balance opportunities, flexible leave options, salary packaging and a fit for life program.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Western Australia Police Force is highly dependent on technology and embraces innovation to improve service delivery to internal and external customers. In policing, cutting edge technology can significantly improve policing outcomes and make real impact to improve the community of Western Australia. There are many competing priorities, opportunities and options which need to be assessed and compared to ensure limited resources are best allocated.

The WA Police Force seeks a highly motivated individual to lead the assessment of new technology proposals, initiatives and projects. As an experienced strategic thinker and analyst, you will actively contribute to supporting frontline police officers to keep our community safe. Your leadership, analytical, project management and strategic thinking skills will ensure technology projects are best assessed and initiated. You will directly see the benefits of your service delivery in support of police operations across the state.

THE ROLE

The Demand Management Consultant oversees the intake of new technology demand – initiative and project proposals. Working with business areas and the diverse resources within the Technology Portfolio to understand policing challenges and opportunities, you oversee the analysis and development of project proposals and assessment options. The role oversees the management of resources within Technology Portfolio to determine when projects and initiatives can be best undertaken. The role informs and supports business cases to seek funding. The position then works with senior executives to align initiatives and projects to strategic priorities and prioritises individual projects in the broader context. Once initiatives are approved to proceed, the role works within the Technology Portfolio to initiate the project.

Key responsibilities include business analysis, developing and maintaining demand and project management policies, performance indicators, reporting mechanisms, initiating projects, as well as maintaining the tools for recording and assessing demand. The role requires stakeholder management, fostering relationships with internal and external partners, analysing problems and opportunities, and providing strategic advice to senior executives. A commitment to information security, ethical standards, and integrity is essential.

The position is ideal for a highly skilled business analysis professional with strong leadership capabilities, experience in options analysis, and the ability to drive continuous improvement project analysis and initiation.
