About the role

We are seeking an experienced Supervisor - Fabrication to join our team at Portland Precision Engineering in Portland VIC 3305. As a Supervisor - Fabrication, you will play a key role in overseeing and coordinating the fabrication operations within our manufacturing facility. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of our growing business.

What you'll be doing

Supervise, direct and motivate a team of fabrication technicians to ensure high-quality output and efficient operations

Develop and implement production schedules, work plans and quality control measures to meet customer requirements and deadlines

Identify and resolve any issues or bottlenecks in the fabrication process, taking corrective action as necessary

Monitor performance and provide constructive feedback to team members, supporting their professional development

Collaborate with the production, engineering and quality assurance teams to optimise fabrication processes and improve overall efficiency

Ensure adherence to all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations and standards

What we're looking for

Significant experience as a Supervisor or Team Leader in a fabrication or manufacturing environment

Strong technical knowledge and understanding of fabrication techniques, equipment and materials

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and specifications

Excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills

Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels

Familiarity with quality control processes and continuous improvement methodologies

Relevant qualifications in engineering, manufacturing or a related technical discipline would be highly regarded

Relevant High Risk Licenses including: Dogman/Rigging (desired), EWP, Forklift
