The Role
The Information Systems Security Manager enhances and supports the security posture of the Royal Australian Air Force’s information systems. This role involves continuous monitoring, governance, and management of measures to protect information and ensure compliance with regulations.
The security manager, oversees data transfers, develops and implements information security policies. They coordinate periodic testing and inspections of information systems, documenting findings and take remedial actions as needed.
Collaboration with a cross-functional team, acting as a point of contact for security enquiries and overseeing best practice, makes this role essential for maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of the organisations information systems.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.
