Short summary:

We are seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to join our IT infrastructure team. This role involves supporting and enhancing our business operations and services to clients. In this hands-on role, you will work across various platforms, focusing on Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) to ensure the reliability and security of our systems.

About the role:

Reporting to the CISO, you will lead improvements in IT infrastructure, network systems, and data centre operations with a security focus.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Writing and maintaining security documentation,
• Internal auditing and guiding stakeholders,
• Maintaining network security,
• Assisting in DevSecOps,
• Working as part of a team,
• Maintaining and enhancing our data centre infrastructure,
• Leading incident response efforts.

A good understanding of IT infrastructure management and compliance with various standards (e.g. ISM and SOC2) is needed. Additionally, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

This position requires Australian citizenship, and we will assist you in obtaining a security clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency, which is required for the role.

About you:

To excel in this role, you should have a solid, hands-on technical background in IT infrastructure and cyber security, be pragmatic with excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to tackle critical situations should they arise.

Essential Criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, etc.) preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of systems engineering experience
• An understanding of cyber security compliance processes.
• Solid knowledge of ISM and SOC2 compliance requirements, including gathering evidence and documentation for GRC.
• Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption technologies.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and their security features.

Technical experience should include:

• Proven experience in security analysis, network administration, or system administration
• Windows / Linux Server administration
• Networking and Firewall configuration
• Virtualisation technologies
• Use of SEIM and central logging platforms to audit and investigate events.

Required soft skills:

• Be customer-focused with strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team and corroborate with colleagues
