The Category Specialist in Beauty (Perfume and Cosmetics) primary responsibility is maximizing the engagement of the customer, be it through in-stock, promotion or range. The Category Specialist contributes to the category performance against financial and KPI targets. They will collaborate and manage the mutual interests of both the Operations and Purchasing team in line with the broader commercial strategy. They are the ambassador of the category and carry the authority of how the range is represented and executed on the shop floor.
As a Category Specialist you will
Weekly/Monthly Analytical reporting
Complete weekly shop visits to observe and discuss stock position, customer demographics, range and promotional opportunities
Assist with providing regular and timely category updates both to internal and external stakeholders
Ensures consistent high standards of customer service through ensuring the range maximizes the customer experience and is store-appropriate
Reviews and analyses initiatives to ensure a high level of customer service by regularly reviewing customer feedback, trends and results
Organise staff incentives, brand and Visual Merchandising training and aid the Operations team to execute the brands in store
Build and maintain relationships with vendors and coordinate vendor store visits as needed
What you should bring along
Previous experience including category coordination, strategic planning, forecasting and financial analysis
Experience or interest in Perfume and Cosmetics is a plus
Experience in managing and collaborating with multiple stakeholders both internal and external to build strong relationships
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritise and work in a fast paced environment
Extensive product knowledge, analytical skills and ability to identify market trends
Advanced MS Excel, and SAP/R3 (Retail) or similar ERP system
