About The Organisation
This well-known and iconic Multi-purpose Sports, Hospitality, Functions and Event club has been a local institution for many members, patrons, and guests over several years in the southeastern/bayside parts of Melbourne. They offer everything from Sport, Hospitality including Food and Beverage, Dining, Functions and Events both Corporate and Private. As they continue to grow and evolve and have been a major contributor to the local community, they are now seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Manager who has significant hospitality experience including managing and delivering several high-profile Functions and Events.
About The Role
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations/Assistant General Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of supervisors and indirectly F & B staff (both full-time and casual up to 14), together with the operations, administration and presentation of the hospitality department, venue, and its surrounding grounds area.
The primary objective is to enhance member experience via the delivery of exceptional hospitality services and aesthetics. Additionally, to grow the profitability of the business via the efficient operation of commercial trade. This will include everything from aspects of Inventory Management, Hospitality Operations, Event Management, HR Management (staff development, hiring, rostering etc.), Venue Presentation and Management, Administration, Financials, and very important Member Relations.
Qualifications/Experience
· Preferably Diploma/Degree in Business/Hospitality together with you Must possess certificates in Responsible Serving of Alcohol and Responsible Food Handling. Also, a strong understanding around areas such as O, H & S standards, EEO and Employee Relations.
· Must have a proven background and experience in Hospitality, specifically Food and Beverage with exposure to managing a diverse range of Events and Functions that are held at the venue.
· Must have had experience in leading a diverse group of full time and casual staff and be able to lead to develop individuals as the venue/club encourages opportunities for development and collaboration and team building.
· Must be able to build and develop strong relationships, specifically staff, executive and leadership team together with Member relations which is a critical component.
· Strong commercial acumen with exposure to inventory management, rostering, POS, budgeting, etc.
· Possess an innovative approach with lateral thinking around current and new opportunities to drive strong outcomes for members and patrons’ experiences.
· Exposure to working in a fast paced and dynamic environment and be able to contribute to the overall culture.
Position Specific Requirements
Candidates must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa to be eligible to apply.
Possess certificates in both Responsible Serving of Alcohol and Responsible Food Handling and have a strong understanding of Food Service and Liquor Licensing
Appointments will be subject to a satisfactory National Police and reference checks.
Current drivers’ license and appropriate vehicle.
The successful candidate will be employed pursuant to the relevant modern award and this organisation employment policies.
