Melbourne Teaching Health Clinics (MTHC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Melbourne and provides world class clinical training opportunities for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences students. It also provides patient access to high quality health care for members of the Victorian community, within a private practice setting. There are six clinical areas that are central to this service, and they include general medical practice, dentistry, optometry, audiology, speech pathology and psychology.

About Shepparton Medical Centre
The Shepparton Medical (SMC) centre is a GP Clinic and multidisciplinary practice providing quality health care to the general public in Shepparton and surrounds. It has been facilitating the wellbeing of patients and students through quality patient-centred care and outstanding clinical education and delivers approximately 40,000 services to patients each year. It supports the community in a number of ways including participating in Priority Primary Care Centres as well as providing allied health care and a range of specialist services.

About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join the team at SMC as a Practice Administrator (Reception) on a maximum-term contract basis, until June 2026. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and supporting the smooth running of the medical practice and Medicare Urgent Care Clinic. There are multiple opportunities, we currently have the following shifts available:
Monday: Two shifts
8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (8 hours)
4:00 PM to 10:30 PM (6.5 hours)
Tuesday: One shift
8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (8 hours)
Wednesday: Two shifts
8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (8 hours)
4:00 PM to 10:30 PM (6.5 hours)
Saturday: One shift
8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (8 hours)

What you'll be doing
Greeting and assisting patients in a friendly and professional manner
Scheduling and managing appointments to ensure efficient patient flow
Performing administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and record-keeping
Handling customer inquiries and providing information about the practice's services
Maintaining the practice's inventory and ordering supplies as needed
Collaborating with the medical team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care
What we're looking for
Relevant qualification and/or work experience in a front desk customer service environment or a healthcare administration environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients in a warm and empathetic manner.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
Proficient in using computer software, such as the MS Office Suite, internet and email (experience with Best Practice software or similar will be highly regarded).
A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining patient confidentiality.
