Our client, a leading freight and logistics provider, is looking for a State Transport Manager to oversee all aspects of NSW's transport operations, including administration, scheduling, safety, compliance, and financial performance. This role ensures smooth day-to-day operations with a strong emphasis on customer service, operational efficiency, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a diverse team across multiple functions and locations
• Drive safety, compliance, and regulatory adherence across all operations
• Oversee scheduling and route optimisation to ensure service efficiency
• Monitor and manage budgets, P&L performance, and cost control
• Implement continuous improvement strategies to lift service standards and reduce operational risk
• Foster a culture of accountability, development, and excellence

The ideal candidate

• Proven experience managing transport operations
• Excellent people leadership and team development skills
• Strong strategic thinking and commercial decision-making skills.
• High-level communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
• Exposure to port logistics / wharf cartage
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Experience with unions and EBAs (desirable)
