We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join my clients precast concrete manufacturing team in North Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all precast products meet internal and external quality standards and regulatory compliance. This includes monitoring production processes, conducting inspections and tests, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining quality documentation in line with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures for precast production.
• Monitor daily production processes to ensure compliance with company and industry quality standards (e.g., PCI, ASTM).
• Conduct routine inspections and quality checks on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Analyze quality data and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to address recurring issues.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related problems.
• Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) of defects and implement improvement strategies.
• Prepare and maintain quality reports, NCRs (non-conformance reports), and audit documentation.
• Lead or support internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory agency inspections.
• Train production personnel on quality standards, proper inspection methods, and process controls.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing and inspection equipment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Requirements:Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in a quality assurance role within the precast, concrete, or construction materials industry.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of quality control procedures
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes specific to precast concrete.
• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Hands-on experience with inspection tools and lab testing procedures.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally.
