Full-Time Chefs Wanted at Raj’s Corner Charlestown!

We are on the looking for talented and experienced Full-Time Chefs to help us deliver an exceptional dining experience at our popular Indian restaurant located in Highfields, Newcastle.

What You’ll Be Doing

Oversee daily food preparation and kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of quality and consistency.

Ensuring the quality of dishes is consistently maintained throughout all stages of preparation and presentation.

Price menu items by analysing recipes and calculating food, labor, and overhead costs.

Prepare and cook a diverse range of Indian dishes for daily service and special events.

Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards, keeping detailed records and adhering to all regulations.

Lead, train, and manage kitchen staff, including scheduling and task delegation.

Share culinary knowledge and techniques to support team development.

Design and present visually appealing dishes that excite and satisfy customers.

Work with clients to plan customised menus for weddings, parties, and other special functions.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Chef in a similar restaurant setting.

Strong ability to prepare a wide variety of Indian dishes.

Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

Relevant qualifications such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality (or equivalent).

Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

Passion for quality, creativity, and customer satisfaction.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

What We Offer

Competitive salary of $70,000 - $80,000 + superannuation.

38-hour workweek to support work-life balance.
