The Senior Officer Strategic Grants & Administration is a new role at the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. This vacancy presents an exciting opportunity for someone with qualifications or experience in social services, community development, or a related discipline who is looking for a rewarding new challenge, exposure to a fast-paced local government environment, and the chance to contribute to meaningful community outcomes.
You will work closely with the Coordinator Advocacy & Grants to administer key community brokerage programs, including the Department of Social Services Community-led Support Fund and the Department of Health and Aged Care Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Services Fund. You will also support the development of strategic grant proposals, identify new funding opportunities aligned with Council priorities, and assist with contract administration, project monitoring and report preparation.
We are seeking someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent communication, have sound research and writing skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. You will be confident working both independently and collaboratively and will bring a genuine interest in supporting evidence-based programs that improve community wellbeing.
Local government or grant management experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Key responsibilities include:
• Assistance with contract administration, payments, and monitoring of reporting requirements across multiple funding streams.
• Supporting the development of strategic grant proposals and funding submissions.
• Researching and identifying new grants that align with the City's strategic direction.
We are looking for someone with:
• Qualifications or experience in social services, community development, or a related discipline.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Perform with high level of quality, accuracy and attention to detail.
• High level of critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills including ability to liaise effectively and courteously with others.
• Ability to work collaboratively with different teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work unsupervised, with a high degree of self-motivation and initiative and ability to work to deadlines in a timely manner.
