About the Opportunity
Due to internal staff movements a temporary 12 month, full time position has become available within the Facilities Management Team.
As the Senior Facilities Officer, you will be at the forefront of delivering effective preventative maintenance solutions for Council owned and controlled facilities. This crucial role involves clear and proactive communication with Service Managers and building user groups to coordinate maintenance and renewal works. The position is also responsible for the daily supervision of the Facilities Officer.
Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating tasks through established facilities management programs, supervising the Facilities Officer, and project managing capital works using the Council’s project management framework. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of annual works programs for various maintenance activities and provide regular reports to the Facilities Management Coordinator.

This role is a Temporary, full-time with a Monthly ADO. The salary range for this position is $88.9K - $96.7K (Band 6) plus superannuation. The role also comes with the option of a commuter use vehicle.
About You
The ideal candidate for the Senior Facilities Officer role is highly organized and excels in time management and administrative skills. They have a proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring all projects are completed on schedule and to a high standard. Experience in project management is desirable, as the role involves overseeing capital works and maintenance activities.
The candidate should be adept at managing contractors, ensuring all work meets contractual agreements and quality standards. Additionally, they must possess strong skills in interpreting and executing contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance and value for money in all engagements. A general understanding of maintenance, construction, or property management is required, providing the foundational knowledge necessary to effectively manage and maintain Council’s facilities.
