Parent Pathways Senior Mentor - What’s the job all about?
Senior Mentors play a crucial role in this journey, offering personalised support for complex needs that acknowledges each parent’s unique situation and the importance of their caregiving role. They assist in setting realistic and attainable goals, leading to stable and suitable employment and harmonises with their family responsibilities. This will include;
- Providing Support to Intricate Barriers: Coach participants to find alternative pathways using a strength-based approach, providing intensive case management for parents facing complex situations.
- Networking: Build and maintain relationships with local service providers to improve referral pathways for participants.
- In-House Activities: Lead in-house activities such as work preparation sessions and supervise participant-led meetings.
- Personalised Employment Plans: Tailored support for parents to create effective job plans.
What You’ll Need
- Diploma level qualification in Community Services, Employment Services or related field or;
- Lived experience in overcoming disadvantage and navigating service systems to achieve education and/or employment, combined with demonstrated work history within employment or community services.
- Current Working with Children Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working in employment or community sector, supporting disadvantaged clients with complex needs, through effective case management and within a broader service system
