2 X Support Workers Gardening

Monday - Friday 8.00am - 4.06pm

Volunteer Home Support is a nonprofit organization delivering basic in-home support services to older people and individuals with a disability in the South West Metro area under the Continuity of Support (CoS formerly HACC) & Commonwealth Home Support (CHSP) Programs.

We are looking for motivated, professional and experienced self-starters who enjoy basic gardening and lawnmowing services for our consumers in the Southwest Metro areas.

You are expected to provide support to our consumers in accordance with their support plan;

Be able to communicate with consumers and family, colleagues and others in a professional manner with respect and empathy;

Promote and foster the independence of the consumer;

Report to the Coordinator any changes observed in the consumer, the home’s safety or other relevant aspects of the home environment;

Report to the Coordinator any Wellness and Reablement initiatives identified for the consumer;

Work within the Aged Care Standards and the organisation's Work Health and Safety Guidelines;

Essential Criteria

You MUST be physically fit and able;

to problem solve and

have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a good sense of humour

excellent time management

team player and work well within a team setting

understanding and caring people focused approach to our clients

a safety first approach to yourself, clients and your co-workers

demonstrated knowledge of plants and garden maintenance

demonstrated knowledge and experience with lawnmowers, hedgetrimmers and other gardening equipment

computer literate as you will be required to use our Mobile Roster app

Current valid unrestricted manual drivers’ licence

Current Police Clearance no more than 6 months old

Current First Aid Certificate

Flu vaccination(mandatory)

Covid vaccination (mandatory)

Knowledge of the above programs and a minimum 12 months industry experience is preferred. Experience driving 2 tonne tippers an advantage but training will be provided.

Benefits

Excellent working conditions and generous salary packaging up to $15,899 is available plus compulsory 11.5% superannuation. Training in OS&H will be highly regarded. Vehicle, mobile phone and all PPE including uniform is supplied.
