Our client is looking for a Insurance Manager who will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Insurance Program, overseeing insurance broking activities, facilitating the Insurance Claims Management process, and driving commercial understanding of insurance throughout the organisation.
Key Individual Accountabilities:
- Manage the organisation-wide strategic approach to insurance
- Identify insurable risks to enable decision making in relation to insurance coverage
- Provide internal advice to the business for all insurance matters
- Prepare briefings for all levels within the organisation on insurance activities
- Manage the annual insurance renewal program and oversee the insurance budget
- Critically evaluate and identify opportunities for improvement in the insurance program
- Manage all insurance claims and be a member of the Steering Committee for the Insurance Advisory Committee (IAC)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Tertiary degree in Finance, Commerce, or Accounting
- Demonstrated ability to understand and incorporate the balance between commercial and customer outcomes
- Experience in managing customer groups or stakeholders
- Ability to think strategically and identify ongoing improvement initiatives
Key Shared Accountabilities:
- Our People: Engagement Scores, Performance Management, Team Succession Planning
- Financial Sustainability: Overall MW Budget and Business plan
- Customer and Community: Divisions internal NPS score, Overall MW Customer Satisfaction and Reputation Scores
- Safety Leadership: TRIFR, HPIFR, Claims costs and Safety Scores from C&E survey
- Vision and Purpose: Communicates and inspires a shared Team vision and strategic direction
- Risk: Ensures proactive oversight, governance, and assessment of risk management consistent with the Risk Management framework
Technical Capability:
- Strong technical expertise on insurance, insurance broking, and claims management
- Understanding and application of commercial acumen
- Resilient and capable of managing ambiguity
- Strong strategic and analytical skills
Decision Rights - Owns:
- Execution of Strategy and business plan
- Team's operational budget
- Approval of financial expenditure (within delegated authority)
- Team structure within agreed Corporate Plan FTE & budget
- Team succession planning
- Stop work directions
- Regulator responses and management
