The Opportunity
The City of Perth, is looking for a WHS Professional, with passion, and experience applying the requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, and has successes in assisting workgroup/s have a positive safety culture.
This role reports to the WHS and Wellbeing Manager, within the Work Health and Safety team. Core responsibilities include, assisting workers with hazard/incident reporting, incident investigation, research and advice, reporting and data analysis, inspections and audits, reviewing operational risk assessments, and develop/maintain/improve the WHS Management Plan systems and processes.
The future of the team, organisational needs and advancements in technology, means there is a variety of areas, we are looking for specialist skills. Meaning the remainder of the position description can be designed around what you will bring to the role, such as:
- Injury prevention, injury management and workers compensation;
- Medical assessment and monitoring requirements;
- Psychosocial safety and psychosocial risk assessment;
- Procedure development;
- Project management and change management;
- ICT solutions, system configuration and system administrator;
- Training and coaching; and
- Wellbeing
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
Essential Criteria
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or willingness to obtain);
- Demonstrated safety leadership experience in a large, complex organisation, driving operational improvements to support strategic objectives and ensure legislative compliance in relation to WHS;
- Experience in developing and reviewing WHS policies and procedures in a complex operational environment to address key gaps and emerging risks;
- Project management skills to lead projects and implement continuous improvement strategies using change management methodology;
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner that promotes informed decision making; and
- Strong analytical skills and experience in the management and analysis of data.

Eligibility

- A current ‘C’ class Australian drivers licence; and
- A satisfactory National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months).
